It’s been awhile…

Well friends, we have been back in the US for almost four months. It feels like a lifetime ago that we were traveling around Guatemala without a care in the world. Now we are settled back into our new every day routine…and trying to wrap our heads around the new normal life during a pandemic.

I’ve been taking a much needed break from my more typical social media presence since our return for a variety of reasons. Life is heavy right now friends. From a global pandemic, the murders of George Floyd, Ahmaud Arbery and Breonna Taylor (just to name a few), the death of RBG, to the current political climate as a whole; it has all left me feeling drained and uninspired. So, I’m posting less and I think, like you all, educating myself on what I can do to help society while turning my focus towards my family unit.

The pandemic is wearing on us all, but as a very different school year has begun I can tell the loss of a full social calendar has begun to wear on the kids. So what I have decided is that the best thing for my family is for me to take a big step back from my career and focus on the home.

This is disappointing on so many levels. 2020 was supposed to be my year!! I was going to have two kids in school allowing me to go back into the workforce in a more significant way. Instead, like so many others I’ve had to shift. It’s just not realistic to think I can increase my business in the way I was hoping this year while still keeping up with our kids’ needs and my sanity.

I’ll be doing a very limited amount of sessions including one more round of mini sessions later this month. You’ll still find me on my usual platforms, here on the blog and of course instagram, but my feed won’t be filled with all clients and travel but rather the normal everyday moments of my family settling into our new home and trying not to get too sick of each other.

Like always you will find a true honest representation of our family and life’s simple moments…with some indulgence along the way. And maybe in reading my posts you’ll feel a little social contact like I do when I’m writing them.

I hope you are all staying well and sane friends.
